Thailand: Five Killed in Police Plane Crash Off Cha-Am Coast

Five people were killed on Friday morning when a Thai police aircraft crashed into the sea near the coastal town of Cha-Am, a popular tourist destination about 160 kilometers south of Bangkok, according to Thai PBS.

The aircraft, a Dash 6-400 Twin Otter, entered service with the Royal Thai Police in 2020. It went down near Cha-Am Beach in Phetchaburi Province at approximately 8:15 a.m. local time.

Rescue teams responding to the crash reported that all six people on board were recovered from the site. Five were confirmed dead, while one survivor sustained injuries and was taken for medical treatment.
