Tragic Ski Resort Fire in Türkiye Leaves 66 Dead

Devastating fire today, Tuesdy, at a ski resort in northwestern Türkiye has left at least 66 people dead, according to official reports.

The tragedy unfolded overnight at a hotel in Kartalkaya, Bolu province. Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya confirmed the incident, stating that 51 others sustained injuries in the blaze.

The fire reportedly started around 3:30 am (00:30 GMT) on the fourth floor of the 11-story hotel, specifically in the restaurant area, as detailed by Bolu Governor Abdulaziz Aydin in an interview with Turkish news outlet TRT.

Despite hours of efforts, firefighters were still battling the flames well into the morning. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
