Tunisia: Pharmacies Facing Medicine Supply Disruptions

Zoubeir Kikaa, President of the Tunisian Union of Private Pharmacy Owners, reported on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, that many private pharmacies are experiencing disruptions in medicine supplies.

The issue stems from delayed payments by the National Health Insurance Fund (CNAM), high raw material costs, and stagnant medicine prices since 2021. Kikaa warned that prolonged delays could lead to the bankruptcy of pharmacies, especially in remote areas, and called for expedited payment processing.
