Tunisia, Canada: Discussing Opportunities for Further Strengthening Cooperation

On December 13, 2024, Tunisia’s Minister of Economy and Planification, Samir Abdel Hafidh, met with Canadian Ambassador to Tunis, Lorraine Diguer. The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation, especially in economic and development sectors, according to a statement by the Tunisian Ministry.

Minister Abdel Hafidh highlighted the growth in economic ties, particularly in direct investment, trade, and technical cooperation. He stressed the need to expand these efforts and explore new mechanisms to support local businesses, creating job opportunities and wealth.

For her part, Ambassador Diguer emphasized Canada’s commitment to strengthening cooperation, with a focus on high-value sectors and the growing demand for Tunisian expertise. She expressed willingness to explore ways to support local companies
