China Discovers World’s Largest Gold Deposit Worth $80 Billion

A massive gold deposit has been found in Pingjiang County, Hunan Province, China, containing an estimated 1,000 metric tonnes of high-quality ore. Valued at 600 billion yuan (around $80 billion), it may be the largest in the world, surpassing South Africa’s South Deep Mine.

Explorations revealed 40 gold veins within 2 kilometers, holding 300 metric tonnes of gold. Advanced 3D modeling suggests more reserves at depths of up to 3 kilometers.

This discovery is set to boost China’s gold industry and mining capabilities.
