Tunisian university professor Samia Gharbi has been awarded the prestigious Goldman Environmental Prize, often referred to as the « Green Nobel, » the prize’s official page announced on Monday.
Gharbi is the first Tunisian to receive this honor, recognized for her exceptional dedication to environmental protection and advocacy.
Established in 1989 by Richard and Rhoda Goldman, the Goldman Environmental Prize is awarded annually to grassroots environmental activists from around the world.
