Val Kilmer, the acclaimed actor known for his roles as Iceman in Top Gun, Batman in Batman Forever, and Jim Morrison in The Doors, has passed away at 65.
Kilmer died Tuesday night in Los Angeles, surrounded by family and friends, his daughter, Mercedes Kilmer, confirmed. The New York Times first reported his passing.
The actor died of pneumonia after previously recovering from throat cancer, which he was diagnosed with in 2014 and treated with two tracheotomies.
