Anouar Chetoui, the representative of the National Tourism Office of Tunisia in China, has announced that the Ministry of Tourism is working to attract the Chinese market by establishing a direct air route between Tunisia and Beijing. This new connection, expected to be operational by 2026, aims to strengthen Tunisia’s appeal to Chinese tourists, who represent the largest travel market in the world.
In a statement to the national radio on Wednesday, Chetoui added that, as part of its promotional efforts, the Ministry of Tourism has invited numerous Chinese influencers and journalists to Tunisia. This initiative is designed to enhance Tunisia’s visibility and reputation among Chinese travelers.
Chetoui also highlighted a significant increase in Chinese tourist arrivals, with more than 30,000 visitors expected in the 2025 season, compared to 24,000 in 2024.
