Brazil Eliminates Import Taxes on Tunisian Olive Oil

Tunis, March 15, 2025 – The Brazilian government has officially removed import taxes on Tunisian extra virgin olive oil, reducing tariffs from 9% to 0%. The decision, which took effect on March 14, 2025, aims to boost Tunisia’s position in the Brazilian market.

With Brazil importing 250,000 tons of olive oil worth $695 million in 2024, this tax exemption presents a valuable opportunity for Tunisian exporters. The Tunisian Embassy in Brasília reaffirmed its commitment to supporting national producers by providing relevant market information and assisting with necessary registrations to access the Brazilian market.
