Tunisian Soldier Killed in Central African Republic

On February 11, 2025, a Tunisian military patrol from the Rapid Intervention Unit in the Central African Republic came under fire in Ndélé, near the Chad border, resulting in the death of a soldier, according to a statement by the Defense Minsitry.

The unit was operating under the UN flag as part of the multidimensional mission to stabilize the country. Deployed since June 2021, the Tunisian force supports peacekeeping operations, protects civilians, secures its area of deployment, and facilitates humanitarian aid.
