UK Foreign Secretary Visits Tunisia to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

On January 31, 2025, Mohamed Ali Nafti, Tunisia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, held a meeting with David Lammy, the British Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs, during his working visit to Tunisia.

The two officials agreed to enhance cooperation in tourism, trade, and investment, with plans to hold the Tunisian-British Association Council in May 2025 to boost economic ties and support Tunisian exports like olive oil, stated the Tunisian Foreign Ministry.

They also emphasized collaboration in education, science, and renewable energy, with Tunisia set to benefit from the UK’s $20 billion Green Innovation Fund. The meeting also addressed regional stability, migration, and shared efforts to combat smuggling networks while promoting sustainable development.
