The governorate of Tozeur witnessed a significant rise in tourist arrivals in 2024, with an increase of over 10% compared to the previous year, according to Regional Tourism Delegate Adel Sbaita. Additionally, overnight stays grew by 19.8% during the same period.
This growth is attributed to promotional campaigns and various sports and cultural events, especially those planned for the last months of the year. Improved air connectivity, including four weekly domestic flights linking Tozeur with the capital, has also contributed to the higher influx of tourists.
Further recovery is expected with the anticipated return of the Tozeur-Paris international route, operated by the French airline Transavia, marking a positive outlook for the region’s tourism sector.
