A study by the University of Nottingham warns that prolonged paracetamol use may increase the risk of serious health issues, including stomach ulcers, heart failure, high blood pressure, and chronic kidney disease, particularly in older adults.
Researchers analyzed data from over 180,000 frequent paracetamol users aged 65 and above, finding limited pain-relief benefits alongside significant risks. Experts recommend reevaluating its use for chronic conditions and advise against taking it for more than three consecutive days without medical consultation.
