Security forces have dismantled a drug trafficking network operating in the Grand Tunis area, the largest metropolitan region in the country. The National Guard announced on Monday via its Facebook page that the operation led to the seizure of 3 kilograms of cocaine.
In two separate operations, authorities arrested five individuals and confiscated a range of illicit items, including quantities of narcotic pills, cash, jewelry, and three vehicles.
Details regarding the timing of the operations or the nationalities of the suspects have not been disclosed.
Tunisia has taken a firm stance against drug trafficking, with intensified efforts resulting in the arrest of hundreds of individuals involved in similar crimes through recent nationwide operations. This latest success underscores the government’s commitment to combating organized crime and ensuring public safety.
